When you first receive your vest you may want to let it air out. You can set it outside or place it on a table for a day. The vest is easy to clean. It can be hand washed with the weights inside or machine washed with the weights removed. Use a mild or gentle soap. Let the vest air dry. You can also spritz it with some water mixed with essential oils.
Machine washing the vest shell:
1. Remove all the weights. You can wash them with soap and water in the sink and towel dry if they need to be washed.
2. Make sure the straps are attached to the vest as if it was being worn so that the Velcro pieces are well attached. If not, they will snag on the fabric of the vest.
3. Set the washer on warm or cold, medium speed, large load, and double rinse if you have it. Do not wash the vest shell with anything but another vest shell.
4. Treat any stains before washing the vest in the machine.
5. Wash the shell.
6. Lay the vest on a towel to dry. (DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DRYER, AS THIS MAY DAMAGE THE LAMINATES ON THE VEST.)
7. Replace the weights and you’re all ready to go.
