The C16 & C18 plant stearates are used to keep the magnesium from clumping when the capsule is made. These are natural fats that keep the ingredients from sticking together. These forms are natural vegetable forms, which are much better and easily broken down by the body. Synthetic, cheaper forms may help with production but contain many contaminants. We prefer these forms that are from vegetables and not a hydrogenation process!
