The issue is not the pH of the water, but the mineral buffering components. We wrote an article on Alkaline Water vs. Alkalizing Water that explains this phenomenon and details which waters are truly alkalizing.
Dr. Brown does like home made Alkalizing Water, as well as Gerolsteiner water.
